Experience Long Island City's Waterfront Parks

Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, a nonprofit volunteer-run organization, was formed as Friends of Gantry Plaza State Park in 1998 by a group of  dedicated Long Island City residents  determined to improve the quality of life at the waterfront in Hunter’s Point, Long Island City. In 2014, the group expanded its mission and evolved into the Hunters Point Park Conservancy – helping to now take care of the newly opened Hunter’s Point South Park and planning hundreds of free events there every year.

Our parks offer recreational activities including a soccer field, basketball courts, playgrounds, and volleyball courts. Their gardens and spaciousness also provide plenty of room for quiet solitude.

The Conservancy hosts programs and events including park clean-ups, movies, concerts, fitness activities, children’s programming, community celebrations and more. Find out more about the parks here, or more about the Conservancy here.
