Farewell Summer 2021!

How has Summer already come to an end!? We had an unforgettable time this summer with all of our partners and attendees as we were able to be back at the park again! It was another successful season highlighted by our fitness programs (Zumba, Yoga, Barre3, H2shO) and Watercolors on the Waterfront events. The duration of our summer program ran for about 12 weeks and included hundreds of registrations! There were many new and familiar faces who were all excited about the return of in-park events, as were we! Thank you to everyone who attended our events and for your support and patience as we transitioned back to normal these past few months. A special thanks to our sponsors Weill Cornell Medicine - Long Island City, TF Cornerstone, and LIC Dental Associates.

HPPC's signature movie series, CinemaLIC, sponsored by Nest Seekers, returned to Hunter's Point South Park this year as well. We kicked off the program on Saturday, July 31st with Disney’s The Lion King (2019) which drew over 500 spectators. We also showed Raiders of the Lost Ark on August 26th and Jaws on September 12th. Thank you to the 1,250 people who joined us to watch these films at the most scenic movie theatre anywhere. Movies began just after sundown and families and friends gathered on the oval for an action-packed night!
