SUPPORT OUR PARKS

Your Support Makes the Difference

The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy works to improve the quality of life in Long Island City by sustaining and beautifying our waterfront parks, serving as a community hub, and providing diverse and inclusive free programming for all. We also contribute to necessary park improvement projects, such as the purchase of Bigbelly trash cans, picnic tables, replacement trees and plants, and more.

In 2024, you joined us for 226 free programs attended by over 21,620 people, including 42 days of Summer Kids programs. Our 59 volunteer sessions were attended by over 1,000 community members who removed more than 2,200 bags of weed and planted over 600 plants and 20,000 bulbs.

We also opened the Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Education Center in October of 2023, which provides water-based recreation and environmental programs and field trips for the community. You can learn more about our work at the Boathouse by clicking here.

This work is not possible without the support of our neighbors and friends. Sign up to volunteer in our parks or donate to the Conservancy today and help make the parks more fun for all!

Hunters Point Parks Conservancy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all contributions are fully tax-deductible.

Individual Donations

This is your waterfront, and we need your help to continue to preserve and enhance it. All donations, large and small, are immensely appreciated and go directly towards our programs and maintenance efforts.

Individuals who donate $150 or more or make a monthly pledge of $15 or more will become part of our Green Guardians program and are invited to events to meet other park champions.

Corporate Sponsorships

We have a variety of sponsorship options available, including program-based  support for our Summer Kids, Fitness, or Environmental programs, and annual sponsor packages. We also accept sponsorships for the LIC Waterfront 5K, held every year on the first Saturday in June with 2,000 annual participants.

Please contact Jessica Sechrist, Executive Director at jessica@hunterspointparks.org for more information.

Corporate Gardening groups

If you’re looking for a great way to get your team out of the office and working together to improve our city, we offer corporate volunteer opportunities to help us maintain our parks. We’ll provide gloves, tools, and guidance, as well as an overview of how that day’s work supports the resiliency and ecology of our waterfront. We run groups from April to November from 10 to 12pm or 1 to 3pm and ask for a minimum donation of $1,500. Group sizes range from 10 to 50 people and need to be confirmed at least 2 weeks in advance. We can accommodate larger groups (up to 150 volunteers) with enough notice for an additional cost.
