Explore Beneficial and Invasive Bugs: Paper Crafting an Insect Specimen

Explore Beneficial and Invasive Bugs: Paper Crafting an Insect Specimen

Insects are everywhere—1.4 million for every person on Earth—yet many remain misunderstood. Are wasps pests or essential helpers? How do bees sustain our food supply? And are ladybugs truly nature's best pesticide? We discuss a few non-insects, such as spiders, earthworms, and nematodes.

Then relax as you design your own imaginary insect, crafting it from various decorative papers and antique book pages. Once complete, showcase your unique specimen with a custom scientific name tag.

No experience necessary—materials provided!

This class is designed for adults, but high school students (ages 14+) are welcome with a parent or guardian present.

Materials: Colored paper, decorative paper, recycled magazines, water-based markers, scissors, glue, antique book pages, tracing paper & fineline markers (for wings), pencils, and rulers.

Please register through our Eventbrite.
