HPPC is thrilled to announce that we're working with NYC Parks to add 22 trees to Hunter's Point South Park, which we're asking the community to help us plant! We'll replace a dead cherry tree, complete the empty tree pits on Center, and replace some of the dead birches at the playground on 55th Ave.

We allocated $20,000 for replacement trees this year, and were very fortunate that the Arbor Day Foundation offered to cover the cost of 10 trees, meaning we can significantly increase what we're planting. We're grateful for their funding, and to NYC Parks Tree Time program for the support for purchasing and planting the new trees. 

The first set of trees will be added on October 9 from 1 to 4pm on Center Blvd, and we're asking for volunteers to help us plant. No experience is necessary and NYC Parks staff will be there with us guiding the work. You can sign up to help plant here!
