Join Hunter's Point Park and watercolorist Monica Schroeder in a self-challenge: paint four mini paintings a week, for a month.
Starting July 9, meet on Thursday evenings at the Environmental Education Center. Each week, we'll tape off, demo, and dive into a new row of your 16-square grid — sky, plant life, water, and marine life — and you'll finish the row at home before we meet again. By week five, you'll have a complete field guide to the park, painted one square at a time.
No experience necessary — we'll cover technique each week before you're on your own. You'll want a basic watercolor set and brush; we'll recommend options to registrants ranging from under $10 to $100, depending on how deep you want to go.
The final session is a celebration: snacks, drinks, and everyone sharing their finished grids. You'll also have the option to display your piece in the Environmental Education Center.
